Spring Band Concert Is Thursday, March 3 at 7 PM. Uniform is Concert Black, and students need to report no later than 5:45 PM for warm-up. Concert Dress Rehearsals: A slight change. Concert Band students still have dress rehearsal on Thursday, 3/3 during Advisory / AST. Due to a dance team rehearsal, Symphonic Band Dress Rehearsal has been moved to Wednesday, 3/2 during 7th block. Percussion students will be excused from 7th hour and should report directly to the band room. JPG Concert: The middle school JPG has their performance on Tuesday evening. High School percussionists assisting with the performance need to arrive at 5:45 PM dressed in a JPG / BVW Band shirt, pants, and "real shoes." Please see additional communication from Mr. Westcott. Substate Pep Band: We would like to have a pep band for the Substate Basketball Playoff on Wednesday, March 2. Report time would be 6:15 pm (game begins at 7:00.) Single game. The Winter Guard performed their full show for the first time and increased their scores from the previous competition!
A reminder that Symphonic Band and Concert Band students have dress rehearsals on Tuesday, February 22 to coordinate our Winds and Percussion for our upcoming concert. Leadership Applications are due Tuesday In the band office. Students auditioning for Drum Major will receive their teacher evaluation forms after submitting applications. Our first audition clinics will be Wednesday before school and Wednesday after school. Additional clinic dates and times can be found on the band calendar. A reminder that Leadership Candidates need to attend a minimum of 2 audition clinics, however they are welcome to attend as many as they like! Volunteer Pep Band on Friday, February 25. This Is our final scheduled pep band - attendance will count for pep band grade ppints for those that haven't completed their required two games, and / or lettering points. These take place on April 9 (Regional) and April 30 (State.) Interested students should visit with their director and private lessons instructor to select a piece. Two different meeting time options will be offered, however students only need to attend one of the meetings.
The meeting will cover leadership positions & responsibilities; audition materials & timeline; and give students an opportunity to ask questions. Grocery Sacking: This weekend Is our grocery sacking fundraiser! This Is always a fun event that has the potential to bring in good earnings! See additional information HERE.
