Thank you to all for a terrific first semester! While it's been a lot of work restarting marching, jazz, and concert bands after our COVID lock down over the previous year and a half, it was wonderful to bring our BV West Band Family back together and to experience making music in person again! We look forward to building upon the positive growth of all our ensembles as we head into the spring semester! Enjoy a well-deserved break and some time with family and friends! Below are a few notes and reminders for when we return in January:

London Trip Info Meeting: There will be a Zoom Meeting on Wednesday, January 5 at 7:00 PM to share details and answer questions about the London Tour for 2022/2023. Please visit the London Info Page on the website if you have not done so already. The Zoom Link will be shared via email.

KSHSAA Piano Competitions: KSHSAA hosts a Regional and State Level Piano competition. Regionals are held February 5 and State on February 19 for those who qualify. Students perform a solo for a judge and receive critiques and awards. Interested piano students should check with Mr. Love for additional information when we return in January. 

Pep Band: Pep Band begins on January 7. All students are assigned two games, but are also welcome to attend as many as they choose over the course of the season. See the schedule HERE. Student assignments are listed in Canvas.

All-State Auditions:  All-State Auditions are held in Salina, Kansas on January 8. Please see your schedule from Mr. Love sent via Canvas.

Sousa Band: January 21-22 at the Lied Center at the University of Canvas. Good luck to those selected!

Winter Guard: Winter guard Is off to a strong start with putting their show together. We look forward to their first competition on January 22 in Columbia, MO.

Congratulations to Jazz Ensemble for a fun and festive performance at Jingle Jazz on Friday evening, and congratulations to our BVW Band members who participated in the East Central KMEA District Honor Bands this past weekend as well!

Winter Concerts: Please make sure you have your Concert Uniform ready to go for next week! Please remember we have some dress rehearsals coming up in to prepare for our concerts. Details can be found in the  December Concert Blog Post .

Pep Band: Students - check Canvas this week for Pep Band assignments and volunteer sign-ups for our performances at BVW Basketball Games in January and February!
