A reminder that Band Camp is a required attendance event for students enrolled in Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Color Guard. Any attendance conflicts should have already been communicated and cleared through Mr. Love. While this will be a very busy 2 weeks, it will also be an exciting and energizing experience for ALL of our Band and Guard students and set us up for a successful and enjoyable first quarter in band!!!

Forms Any remaining forms for Band and Fair Share Payments can be dropped off at the check-in table upon arrival at West. We have a grace period to turn in the KSHSAA Athletic Participation Forms as we are aware scheduling doctor's visits is challenging at the moment due to demand. KSHSAA Physical Forms will be accepted up to August 18 (first full day of school.) Band App We use a special App designed specifically for communication among school athletic teams and activity groups. It is called the BAND App. Instructions can be found HERE. It is important that parents and students use this app (no cell phone required - you can sign-up via email too!) as this is where we share time-sensitive information (I.e. report to Choir Room for rehearsal; Spirit Day attire; day of performance reminders, etc.) Please make sure students have downloaded and registered in the Band App before attending tomorrow's rehearsal if they have not yet done so! Weather The forecast looks quite good for this week, still students may not be accustomed to being outside for long periods. Drink plenty of water (starting tonight) and make sure to eat a good breakfast. COVID Precautions We will follow all district protocols related to masking and distancing for indoor activities. Masks at this time are highly encouraged indoors for those who are not vaccinated. Information about vaccines is available on the JCDHE website or through your personal care provider. If students wish to wear playing masks during rehearsal they will be provided. As the situation related to COVID continues to evolve, we will make any necessary adjustments to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our students. Comments are closed.
