Dear BVW Band Families,
This week is our "Concert" Week. All of our concert ensembles will be recording a virtual concert to be released at the end of the week. See below for schedule details. This will be our last Virtual concert - our Spring Band Concert, scheduled for May 11, will be held in person with a live audience. More details to be shared as we get closer to May. For our concert recording, students need to wear their concert black attire. All black - neck to and neck to wrist. A long sleeved, collared, black button down shirt and black dress pants or long skirt are preferred along with black socks and shoes. Schedule at a Glance This Week: Tuesday: *Winter Guard: 6 – 9 PM (BV District Office Gym) *JPG (MS): 6 – 8 PM *Symphonic Band Concert Recording: 6 – 7 PM (Please note the time change) *Wind Ensemble Concert Recording: 7 – 8 PM Thursday: *Concert Band Concert Recording: 6-7 PM *Winter Guard: 6 – 9 PM (BV District Office Gym) *JPG (HS): 6 – 8 PM Next Week: Spring Break! *Color Guard Rehearsals - TBD Have a great week! Mr. Love To better prepare for our upcoming March concert, and to offset the challenges posed by COVID and the Hybrid format, each of our ensembles will have a series of evening rehearsals leading up to our March concert recording sessions. As always, students are expected to attend all rehearsals and performances, including both our in-person and virtual students. That said, as per the handbook, please communicate with your director regarding any potential conflicts or COVID concerns in advance. We are more than happy to work with you as we begin to make a return towards a more typical band experience. Early communication is always key to finding positive solutions! Our March concert will be a pre-recorded event, however, we are very optimistic that we will be able to offer an in-person performance for our final concert series in May.
