About the Jaguar Bands
The Blue Valley West Jaguar Bands were founded in 2001 when Blue Valley West High School opened. Since then, the program has grown to include the Red & Silver Brigade, two concert ensembles, pep band, an optional fall concert band, two jazz bands, a competitive Winterguard, percussion ensembles, and numerous small ensembles. The Jaguar Bands have traveled to perform in St. Louis, Indianapolis, Denton, San Diego, Carnegie Hall in New York City, and London!
We strive to provide the most musically enriching experiences for all of our students by providing a wide variety of opportunities. All of our ensembles participate in local, regional, and national festivals and competitions, receiving high ratings wherever they perform.

What do our students do?
|
As members of the Blue Valley West Band,
we value: INTEGRITY - building character FAMILY - unity in pursuit PRIDE - fulfillment through effort |
Our students represent a cross-section of the entire Blue Valley West campus. Band students actively participate in choir, theater, sports, art, newspaper, and many other clubs and activities. We consider ourselves lucky to have students that are so well-rounded and engaged in the school community. We offer a wide variety of options for participation in band to accommodate all of these activities. Some of our students want to become professional musicians or music teachers - they can take as many as four or five band classes at once! Other students enjoy being in band as a hobby and to have fun with their friends. We offer many different courses so that students can choose the level of participation that best suits them.
